How to create a quiz on QMplus
Table of contents
Add a quiz to your module on QMplus [edit]
- Turn on edit mode in the top-right of your module page.
- Click Add an activity or resource in the topic where you would like the quiz to appear.
- Choose Quiz from the activity picker.
Configure settings [edit]
- You will then be taken to the settings page for your quiz.
- Under the General section, set the name of the quiz and add a description, which will usually contain instructions and other important information for your students.
- Under Timing, you can choose when the quiz will become available, and when it will close. You can also set a time limit, as well as choose what should happen once the time expires.
- In the Grade section, you can set a minimum grade required to pass the quiz. You can decide how many attempts should be allowed, and the grading method, which is how the final grade is calculated.
- Under Layout, you can choose the number of questions per page, and whether students move through the quiz sequentially or freely.
- There are also some options for modifying Question behaviour, such as shuffling answers, deferring feedback and building on past attempts.
- There are even more settings available, but this should be enough to get you started. If you're unsure what these settings men, you can click the question mark icon next to them.
Adding a question to your quiz [edit]
- There are two ways to add a question to your quiz. You can click on the questions tab to create a question within the quiz itself, or you can create a question in your module's question bank and then add this to your quiz. It's best practice to use your module's question bank to help organise questions across all your quizzes.
- From your question bank, click the blue button that says create a new question.
- You are then asked to choose a question type to add.
- Give your question a name. This is to help you find it in the question bank.
- Under Question text, add your question for the students.
- You can add some general feedback, which the students will see after they have completed the question.
- The question settings will differ depending on the question type. If you're unsure what these settings mean, you can click the question mark icon next to them.
- Click save and then go to the questions tab of your quiz.
- Click Add and select from question bank, then choose your question.
