What is Streaming?
Live streaming in EchoVideo allows students to watch a lecture live online as it happens, while also enabling the session to be recorded for later viewing where appropriate.
Before your session
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
- Use an up-to-date web browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for the best experience.
- Log in to QMplus using your Queen Mary username and password.
Finding Your Live Class
- Open the relevant module in QMplus
- Select the Live Stream or Lecture Recording link provided by your lecturer.

- If the class is currently live, a raspberry signal icon will appear to the left of the class name.
- If the class is scheduled to go live later, a grey LIVE badge will appear to the left of the class name.

Joining a Live Session
1. Click on the live class.
2. Select how you are joining:
- Join In Person if you are attending the class on campus.
- Join Remotely if you are attending online.
3. The live stream will open automatically when the session is available.
Join In Person
When you join In-Person, the experience is designed to support your participation in the classroom.
- The live stream is muted automatically
- The video player appears smaller.
- The focus is on class discussions, activities, and taking notes while you are physically present.
Join Remotely
- When you join Remotely, the experience is designed for online viewing.
- The video player appears larger.
- The focus is on watching the live stream.
- Class discussions and your notes are available but take a secondary role.
During the Live Session
- Adjust the volume and video quality if required.
- Use full-screen mode for a better viewing experience.
- If enabled by your lecturer, participate using the chat or Q&A features.
If You Can't Access the Stream
- Refresh the page and try again.
- Make sure you are logged into QMplus with your Queen Mary account.
- Try a different web browser.
- Clear your browser cache if the page does not load.
