As Zoom is being decommissioned on 31st July 2025, you may have questions about what will happen to your Zoom recordings and the Zoom integration with QMplus.

Accessing Your Zoom Recordings After Decommissioning

Zoom is currently integrated with QMplus Media, which means all cloud recordings are automatically transferred to your QMplus Media account. Even after Zoom is no longer available, you will still have access to these recordings.

To find your recordings:

  • Log in to QMplus, go to your profile icon at the top of page and select My Media from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can log in directly to QMplus Media.

  • Your My Media page has a search function that can help you locate your Zoom recordings.

What Happens to the Zoom integration with QMplus?

If you have been using the Zoom integration with QMplus, you may be concerned about what will happen to the meeting links and recordings stored there.

Since this tool is directly connected to Zoom, it will no longer function after Zoom is decommissioned. This primarily affects students who may want to access archived recordings from previous years, as all online teaching from the 2025/26 academic year onwards will take place on Microsoft Teams.

Ensuring Recordings Remain Accessible

To keep recordings available for students in the QMplus archive, you can add them to the relevant module page by following these steps:

  1. Identify who owns the recording. Only the media owner can add the recording to a module, unless they have made someone else a co-publisher. The owner is usually the person who created the Zoom meeting. Read our guide on QMplus Media collaboration to learn how the media owner can give someone else permission to publish their videos.

  1. Go to the module page, select the More tab and then select Media Gallery.

  1. Here you will see all your videos, including your Zoom recordings. You may need to use the search function if the recordings took place a while ago.

  1. Select the videos you want to share by checking the box to the left. You can add more than one video at once.

Tick the box to the left of the video

  1. Once you have made your selection, click the Publish button. The selected recording(s) will appear on the Media Gallery page for that module.

By following these steps, you can ensure that important recordings remain accessible, even after Zoom is decommissioned.
