Final thoughts
Final thoughts
Over the course of this online module, we’ve seen just how important reflection is in both professional learning and personal growth. As we bring this phase of the programme to a close, we invite you to engage in one final reflective activity. This is an opportunity to pause and think deeply about the last two months, considering what you’ve learnt from the various sessions, your off-the-job (OTJ) activities and your own prior experiences.
You may choose to use a structured reflective model to guide your thinking, such as Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle, which takes you through stages including description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action planning. Alternatively, you may prefer to reflect more freely, using prompts such as:
- What have been the most valuable insights or moments of learning for me?
- How have my views or practices changed since the beginning of the module?
- What connections can I make between the sessions, my workplace and my prior experiences?
- What has challenged me and how have I responded to those challenges?
- How do I plan to continue developing as an educator moving forward?
As part of your reflection, we also encourage you to include any remaining questions or concerns you may still have. Identifying these is an important step in continuing your development and seeking the right support as you move ahead in the programme.
