Over the past few weeks, you have embarked on the journey of understanding what it means to be an apprentice. During this time, we have introduced key information and documentation, and outlined the expectations for your engagement with various components of the programme.
As a result, you will hopefully now feel more confident with terminology such as off-the-job (OTJ), tripartite reviews and KSVBs, and will have begun to successfully embed a range of new practices, learning and experiences into your workplace - recording these in your learning logs as you progress.
You have also started to engage with some of the academic foundations that will support your in-person sessions and PGCert assignments. While knowledge, skills, values and behaviours are core elements of the apprenticeship programme, we have also explored how they underpin effective educational practice more broadly. Across each topic addressing these areas, you have been encouraged to reflect regularly on your own experiences, practices, and understanding. This ongoing thread of critical reflection will weave through everything you do this year, ultimately supporting your development into an effective, confident and reflective educator.
As you continue to engage with and log your OTJ activities, you may wish to revisit this page periodically to remind yourself of the key principles that will guide your work throughout this year and into the future.
