Dear all,

If you are interested in health and armed conflict, then you might want to join an online panel discussion that I am organising at noon on 1st December for Global Health Week. Three experts are going talk about their experiences and answer any questions that you have.

Reem Abu-Hayyeh, who works for Medact a non-profit organisation, whose mission is "to support health professionals from all disciplines to work together towards a world in which everyone can truly achieve and exercise their human right to health". Reem's work focuses on the UK’s recruiting of adolescents to the military, and on challenging barriers for migrants to access healthcare in the NHS.

Wiam Alashek is a Libyan born surgeon who completed her PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham and now teached global public health at Barts.

Neve Gordon is Professor of International Law and Human Rights at QMUL. Neve's research focuses on international humanitarian law, human rights, new warfare technologies, the ethics of violence, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. During the first Intifada, he served as director of Physicians for Human Rights, Israel.

Best wishes,

Jonathan
