Hi everyone,

Hope your exams have gone super well and that you're now enjoying your summer and not too anxious about results.

We are now recruiting several mentors and one student organizer for the PASS mentoring scheme for the upcoming academic year.

PASS is a mentoring scheme where we hold hour-long PASS sessions every week and where mentors and mentees meet to discuss course content, exam revision, jobs and work experience, etc, and mentors share tips and advice from their experience. Your mentees will be students on the same course as you but a year or two below you. As a mentor, you will be required to attend the sessions at least every other week. This is an unpaid volunteering role. You will build skills such as communication, time-management, creative thinking, and build connections with a community of other ambitious students.

Students starting their second, third, and fourth year in 2017/18 are eligible to apply.

We are also recruiting ONE student organizer to replace me as I am graduating. The organizer is the leader of the PASS scheme and is basically responsible for the smooth running of this scheme, ensuring a good turnout and that mentees are benefiting, expansion and implementation of new ideas, and reporting back to staff. This year we implemented ideas such as course-specific revision sessions, a YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiY2YtgL71iKxIKleQzmtmw), anonymous surveys, a proper communication channel with mentees (via this QMplus page), amongst many other things. This is a paid role and a further job description is attached.

The organizer should possess the following qualities:
- be organized
- be creative
- have the ability to follow through and implement new ideas
- be independent
- be reliable and responsible
- have good time-management

Previous experience in such a role is also highly desirable.

Students starting their PENULTIMATE year (second year of a three-year degree or third year of a four-year degree) in 2017/18 are eligible to apply for student organizer.
