This area contains the Prescribing Safety Assessment preparation materials of QMUL / Barts medical school, comprised of a series of lectures and practice question sessions. A summary of some core drugs / drug groups that you are likely to encounter in clinical work during Year 5 and will meet often in FY1 work. It is not exhaustive (see BNF!) and your clinical teams will likely use various other drugs. The list is intended as a guide to help in preparing for MBBS examinations and the Prescribing Safety Assessment in Year 5.

This document from NHS Clinical Commissioners, BMA, RACGP, NAPP, and RCN is an important read for prescribers whose responsibilities are described, including the over-arching: 'Prescribers are responsible for the prescriptions they sign and they must be prepared to explain and justify their decisions and actions.'
