Deleted media remains visible in EchoVideo for up to three months after deletion and is then automatically removed. Deleted items cannot be permanently removed manually during this retention period.

Q: I deleted a video, but it still appears in my Media Library. Why?

When media is deleted in EchoVideo, it is not removed from the system immediately. Instead, it is placed in the Recycle Bin as a soft delete.

Items that have been soft deleted will continue to appear in the Media Library and will be marked with a Deleted status. This acts as a safeguard, allowing content to be restored if it was removed accidentally.

Q: Can I permanently delete a video myself?

No. Current system settings do not provide an option for users or local administrators to manually and permanently remove deleted media.

Q: How long do deleted videos remain in the system?

The retention policy is set to:

"Permanently delete all media 3 months after the initial soft delete."

This means that deleted videos will remain visible in the system for up to three months after deletion. Once this retention period has expired, they will be automatically and permanently removed by the system.
