How do I stop students from seeing a lecture recording?

Managing Recording Availability [edit]

You can control whether students are able to view individual EchoVideo recordings. Recordings can be hidden temporarily or permanently, or made available only during a specific time period.

To change the availability of a recording:

1. Open your QMplus course and select the EchoVideo Recordings link.
2. Locate the recording you wish to manage.
3. Select the media options menu (three dots or media icon) next to the recording.

Choose one of the following options:

• • Make Unavailable – hides the recording from students.
  • Make Available – makes a previously hidden recording visible to students.
  • Availability Settings – provides additional options for controlling access.

Setting Availability Dates [edit]

The Availability Settings option allows you to:

• Make a recording available immediately.
• Hide a recording until a specified date.
• Restrict access to a defined date range.
• Automatically remove student access after a chosen date.

This can be useful when you want students to access recordings only during a particular teaching period or revision window.

Note: Changing the availability of a recording affects student access only. Instructors and administrators will continue to be able to access the recording through EchoVideo.
