How to arrange a live stream [edit]
If you would like your lectures to include the option of a live stream, please request this with timetabling via q-reviewbookings@qmul.ac.uk or if your school has a scheduler, they will be able to set this for you.
To ensure your students can access they live stream, they must do so via QMplus. Please ensure you place the link into the relevant QMplus course.
How to access a live stream [edit]
When an student clicks on the link in QMplus, they will be taken straight through to their module's folder of recordings in G-Review.
If the class is happening now, a pink signal icon will be displayed to the left of the class name.
if the class is scheduled to be live later, a grey live badge appears to the left of the class name.
To enter a class. click on the class row that has the pink signal icon to enter the classroom. A countdown in the lower corner displays the time until the live stream will start.
Students will need to select whether they are attending the session remotely, or in person, this choice will affect what they can see and hear during the stream.
In the last 60 seconds before the live stream starts a countdown clock will appear on the page. Students can check the box to automatically join the session when the stream starts. If the class has already started, there will be an option to Join Session
Attending a session in person [edit]
When attending in person the focus is on participation with the lecture that is happening in the room and note taking. The students' audio is muted, the video feed is smaller, allowing more room for the note taking area and the camera stream showing the lecturer is not included.
Attending a session remotely [edit]
When attending a session remotely, students will have an additional stream showing the lecturer in the room as well as the presentation, the presentation view is bigger to allow a better view, this does mean the note taking space is smaller.
