How were you taught?

Every learning journey is shaped by the ways we are taught - the people, methods, and moments that influence how we grow. In this activity, you are invited to pause and reflect on your own clinical education experiences. Through creating a visual and reflective snapshot, you'll explore how you were taught, how you learned, and how inclusive those experiences were for yourself and others.

Activity: How were you taught?

Create a visual and reflective snapshot that explores how you were taught and how you learned during your clinical education.

Using any format you like (e.g. collage, AI-generated image, sketch, infographic, concept map or annotated image), represent:

  • Moment: Your earliest experience of being taught in a clinical setting or a more recent or current experience of being taught.
  • Impact: How these experiences supported (or didn’t support) your learning
  • Inclusion Lens: A reflection on how inclusive or exclusive these experiences might have been for others in your cohort (e.g., introverts, neurodivergent learners, those from different backgrounds, etc.)

You can include text boxes, keywords, colours, symbols, or even short video/audio commentary if the platform allows.

Upload & Share:

Post your snapshot to the forum.

In the caption, briefly respond to this question:

"What one thing would you redesign to make the learning experience more inclusive or engaging for everyone?"

After uploading, view at least one peer's post and leave a comment or question:

  • What did you relate to?
  • Did they highlight something you hadn’t considered?
  • Can you suggest a small change or idea based on your own experience?
