Buddy Scheme
Starting university is an incredibly exciting time, but it can also come with many challenges.
The Queen Mary Buddy Scheme matches trained Queen Mary students (mentors) with incoming first year students (mentees) from their academic School in a group. We believe a sense of community should be at the heart of any university experience and the Buddy Scheme is at the centre of this from the beginning of your student journey.
The Buddy Scheme is a voluntary scheme that will help new students settle into university life, socialise, meet new people and have some fun!
We know many of you are keen to explore opportunities to develop your skills for the future, so why not look into becoming a peer mentor with the Buddy Scheme this year, giving up only 10 hours of time and boosting your employability with Mentoring experience on your HEAR transcript? Each year the Buddy Scheme makes a real difference to lots of our incoming students.
Navigating the university environment for the first time can be daunting for our new students. Our training will help you develop the skills and confidence to support incoming cohorts. Your support will make a real difference to the Queen Mary community, whilst boosting your skills in the process.
