Dear All

it was lovelyt ot see you all and excited to see what you will create.  Below re some further deadlines rather "milestones" for you to mindful of.

  1. this week i will cover information on producing a pitch deck, crowdfunding, production flow and the importance of colour in film
  2. Week three no taught class as you will all be engaged in the practical exercise with the brief "I'm a stranger here my self" a 90 second film to be made in 8 hours - 2hrs for idea generation; 2 for preparation; 2 for execution; 2 for post - and finalisation. Take this on as a film and as such consider the finish - title and credits. What form your film takes will be up to you - this could also a good opportunity to use this as a way exploring ideas you may have around you assignment piece.
  3. in addition you need to be preparing your pitch for week four. - we will cover this tomorrow in more detail.
  4. Guildhall School of Music and Drama composers - As you know we are super lucky to be collaborating with the GSMD as such we have soem dates you need to be aware of.

February 25th 3pm - you will pitch to the composers online, Each group will take it inturns to pirch their film to the group of composers, any musical references, the tone, the genre, the characters. etc.

March 5th you will receive the ideas from the composers that most resonated with your story. this will be a music sample / idea.

March 9th - you will need to select the composer you widh to work with.

April 20th - you need to 'pitch lock' your film and send it to the composer to lay down the music track.

April 27th - the composers will return this to you. Please note that you will be in conversation with your composer throughout the collaboration. Once you have the music you can then mix the sound on your film.

May 5th NEW DEADLINE to hand in your film.

See you tomororw!

Best wishes
