Dear QMUL SBBS Student,

Are you exploring which extra - curricular activity to get involved with next year? Join the PASS Mentoring Programme and gain evidential skills that employers love — all while supporting new students in your School succeed with their studies and settle into university.

PASS (Peer Assisted Study Support) is an academic mentoring scheme where second and third-year students support first-years with uni life and studies. It's recognised by employers and other universities worldwide — a great look on your CV.

 On the PASS programme you’ll build skills in:

 Communication

 Teamwork

 Leadership

Organisation

Publicity & outreach

You'll also get to make a real impact by helping first-years find their feet — and share your love for your subject at the same time. Here’s a snippet of the roles below.

 

Student Organiser Role (Paid):

  • Open to 2nd & 3rd years
  • Paid role with more responsibility
  • Great for leadership and time-management skills

Mentor Role (Voluntary):

  • Open to 2nd & 3rd years
  • £40 bursary (if you complete training + minimum sessions)
  • Flexible, rewarding, great for building teamwork, communication and organisational skills
