Thank you for screening your work in progress, very impressed with all your work and hope the opportunity to see your work on a big screen enabled you see your work in a new light and return to the edit with a clearer focus.
so just to outline some of the upcoming deadlines:
Friday 11th April - locked picture to be sent to your composers. While they get on with the music, you need to be working on the dialogue edit and the colour grade. MAKE SURE your picture edit includes titles and end credits etc. You need to then get the music track back in time for you lay it on your film and mix it with the other sound elements.
30/04 deadline for the "written report" "evaluation report" - this is an opportunity for you to prepare for festivals - the material asked for this part is really what you need to upload onto FILM FREEWAY and begin your festival journey. For those interested in the FESTIVALS i. hope to run a workshop for anyone interested. I will send out a form and gauge interest. It will be after all the hand-in dates.
10/05 - FILM SUBMISSION. this is a hard deadline. any film submitted after this day will not be considered in the competition. this is because we are already very tight on turn around with judges having enough to view the short list. for the screening later on in the month.
in other news - I want to give you all the opportunity to think about a short film you can film from May -June where we can work with more PRP actors. If you are interested in this, do email me directly and we can discuss further. If you are contemplating this then you need to know that filming has to be completed by end of June.
