Dear Students,Â
Our partner, JUSTICE invites applications for a four days per week, six-month fellowship. This is a paid position.Â
For more information, please check the page here:Â https://qmul.targetconnect.net/leap/jobs.html?id=184558&service=Careers%20Service
The Senior Fellow will work closely with our policy staff to assist with JUSTICE’s workstream on Securing access to justice: reviewing the Windrush compensation, EU Settlement Scheme, and Afghan Resettlement Schemes.
We are looking for a Senior Fellow to produce a final comparative report drawing out common themes, issues and recommendations from all three reports. The successful candidate will also progress the implementation of the recommendations made by the three published reports through organising and attending meetings with stakeholders, responding to relevant consultations and policy announcements and collaborating with other individuals and organisations.
The fellowship will provide the opportunity to develop research and drafting skills, to engage with policy and law-making processes, and to be part of a small, friendly and committed team.
Given the nature of our work, applications are sought from graduates only. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in the challenges affecting the immigration system and should have excellent written and spoken communication skills. We strongly encourage applications from individuals with lived experience of the Windrush Compensation Scheme, EU Settlement Scheme or Afghanistan Relocation Assistance Policy.
The Senior Fellow role is offered for a fixed 6-month contract at four days a week at B1 on our salary scale (£36,528 per annum, pro rata). We would also be able to accommodate individuals who wish to work three days per week over a longer period. We are looking for a fellow to start as soon as possible, however the exact start date will be discussed with the successful candidate, please indicate your availability on the application form.
Â
The JUSTICE team work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however attendance is currently optional and we welcome applications from individuals based across the UK. The Fellow will have regular video calls with their line manager, the policy team and wider JUSTICE staff.
To be considered for this fellowship, please complete the application form and email it to jobs@justice.org.uk. CVs alone will not be considered.
Please note that due to the high number of applications we receive and our limited resources as a small charity we are unable to provide individual feedback to applicants who are not interviewed. For tips on applying for the fellowship please see the Q&A page on our website.
Please mark your email with ‘SENIOR FELLOW’ in the subject line.
Closing date: 11:59pm on Sunday 30 June 2024
Interviews will be held by Zoom during the week of 22 July 2024
