Complete Entertainment and Media Law Short Course
One of our partners is running a short course with New Media Law called Complete Entertainment and Media Law, where each graduate is entitled to a 1 week on-site work placement at New Media Law, London: https://www.entertainmentandmedialaw.co.uk/
The course is an in-person short course of lectures, workshops and networking covering the full spectrum of the latest best practices and case studies on Entertainment Media Law and IP. It is taught over 10 weekday evenings from January 2024 or over 5 full days in June 2024.

Privacy Culture Job Opportunities
Privacy Culture is currently looking to take on more part-time employees and was hoping to have some of our QM students join them.
§ Start date: ASAP
§ Hours per week: From 20 hours – 35 hours a week (so looking for both current students and ones who have graduated).
§ Location: Work from home on a Mon, Thursday & Friday. The candidate must be in their Fleet Street office on a Tuesday & Wednesday as this is when the whole team comes together.
§ Time frame: Even though many will be on 0-hour contracts, Privacy Culture will be open to full-time positions once the candidate has completed their studies. They will receive 3- or 6-month reviews as well as usual 1-year annual performance reviews.
§ Payment: PAYE up to £17.50 per hour

Pump Court Tax Chambers – Problem Question Competition 2023/24
First Prize - £750 and a mini-pupillage
Runner-up prizes of up to £500 at judges’ discretion
Students are invited to submit an answer to the enclosed problem question by 29 January 2024 at 5 p.m. No previous knowledge of the subject area is required and entrants are only needed to read the one case referred to in the problem question. Answers may be up to 1000 words (including footnotes) and conciseness is encouraged.
Entrants must be studying at a UK university/college or have completed their studies at a UK university/college within the past three years (applicants do not necessarily need to have been studying law) but must not have commenced a training contract or pupillage (or equivalent in another jurisdiction). Each entry should be the work of a single author (so no joint entries are allowed).
Answers should be sent to competitions@pumptax.com in Microsoft Word format. The covering email should state the entrant’s full name, present (or most recent) university/college and contact details (judging is anonymous so please do not include your name in the essay itself). All submissions will be acknowledged.
