World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Internship Programme
The Building Respect for IP Division of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) is currently looking to fill the position of an intern at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, for a minimum of 6 months, possibly 12 months. The tentative starting date is January 1, 2024, and the monthly stipend for an intern with a postgraduate degree (such as an LL.M.) is CHF 2,070. The candidate should have a legal background (LL.B., J.D. or equivalent) with a specialisation in intellectual property (IP) matters, excellent command of written and spoken English as well as an interest and/or experience in the areas of building respect for IP and IP enforcement.  More detailed information on the Division’s work can be found at http://www.wipo.int/enforcement/en/ as well as on page 49 of the WIPO Program of Work and Budget for 2024-25.

 Interested candidates are invited to send their application to enforcement@wipo.int as soon as possible but at the latest by November 6, 2023.  The application should at least include a CV and a short motivation letter and should highlight any previous experience with IP enforcement and building respect for IP.

 

Gray’s Inn Bar Course Scholarships
Applications for Gray’s Inn Bar Course Scholarships are open. This is a fantastic opportunity for students considering entering the profession to receive the recognition and financial support to fast-track their careers.

The Bar training course is a one-year, full-time (or two-year, part-time) course designed to introduce practical skills needed at the Bar, including advocacy, case preparation, conferencing, negotiation, and legal research. The Bar Training Course is part of the requirements to be qualified as a barrister in England & Wales.

The Application Deadline is 11.59 PM Friday 3 November 2023.

During the application period for the Bar Course scholarships, Gray’s Inn holds free-to-attend online Q&A sessions.

These provide the opportunity for students to hear from their interviewers and previous scholars about what to expect during the application and interview process.

The next Bar Course Scholarship Q&A session will take place on Wednesday 18 October, registration is online. Alternatively, there is another Bar Course Scholarship Q&A session on Tuesday 24 October.

QHack - Autumn 2023 (Semester A)

QHack is a high-energy, fun, intensive in-person bootcamp, which gives you opportunities to learn how to get businesses off the ground, meet entrepreneurial students, network with mentors and experts and, quite possibly by the end of it launch your own business!

In QHack, you will learn and consolidate a whole range of skills, from idea generation and selection to getting out of the building and talking to customers; from developing a sound pitch deck to giving a brilliant pitch and working with a team.

This round of QHack will run between Friday 3rd November 2023 and Sunday 5th November 2023. Please note that we are looking for students and graduates who can commit to joining the programme for the whole weekend.
