Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you a selection of internships that are currently accepting applications. It’s important to take a well-deserved rest over the summer months but if you can also squeeze in some work experience your CV and future career will thank you for it!

We’re also running our QTaster programme over the summer term – this is open to UG, PG and graduates! The deadline for applying is the 4th May so I wanted to share a little more about it and really hope you’ll sign up. It's a great way to get career clarity and will ensure you make well-informed career decisions.

What is QTaster? QTaster allows you to experience different sectors, working environments and roles across various employers. It helps you gain insight into companies that are both well-known and new to you, learn more about the day-to-day culture of different organisations and find out about their application process. This is great information if you are still exploring your options and figuring out the right career for you. Confirmed employers this term are Unilever, J. P. Morgan, Civil Service Fast Stream, ING, Expedia Group, Frontiers, T. Rowe Price, Accenture, Liberty Comms. and HSBC.

For this summer round, there will be a mix of online and in-person sessions. For the in-person sessions, we will visit the employer’s offices, these sessions might also be live-streamed for those of you who prefer to attend online. You will be able to book your space for the employer-led sessions that you prefer. All sessions will take place at 2pm every working day from Monday 6 of June to Wednesday 15 of June inclusive. If you have any questions, please contact qtaster@qmul.ac.uk or if you’re all set to sign up – click here

Learning Experience Design Intern

CocoRio is a company co-founded by a Queen Mary alumna. CocoRio is looking to develop the learning journey of children by using the CocoRio approach. The idea is to create milestone badges that children collect as they progress with their CocoRio sitter. This also gives insight to the family as to what skills are being worked on. At CocoRio, we are a young team of eager professionals who aim to equip children with enriching multidisciplinary creative knowledge whilst nurturing a community of guilt- free working parents who know their children are engaging in meaningful activities while they are away or busy. We are the number one creative child care provider, creating an affordable and rewarding experience for both families and children. Suitable candidates will have an interest in education and child development or have written any essays based on creative subjects (e.g. English and Drama, Film, Journalism, History, etc.).

Community Hub Development – Intern

Volunteers are a vital part of the organisation, and this role would enable us to attract, support and retain more engaged volunteers. Increasing our volunteer base will support us to go further faster by delivering many more meals to vulnerable people and reducing the environmental impact of surplus food. We require a part-time intern to help develop our Community Volunteering Hub. The  Hub is an online platform that helps charities and community groups connect with volunteers in their local area. The Community Hub also allows FareShare (FS) to distribute grants to charities and community groups.

FareShare is the UK’s longest-running food redistribution charity. We were born out of the belief that no good food should go to waste, especially when people are going hungry. This belief is as central to our work now as 25 years ago. Ideally, you will be able to devote 2 days per week, but we can offer flexibility (10 weeks minimum).

Application deadline, 8 May – please apply with your CV and a cover letter via this link https://qmul.targetconnect.net/leap/jobSearch.html?id=143913&service=Careers+Service
