Title: Above and below the line: Investigating the influence of marketing on infant feeding attitudes and decisions

Discussants: Gillian Kingston, M&C Saatchi World Services and QMUL

Summary: The infant formula market is expected to reach a value of $45.34 Billion by 2025. Multiple studies have highlighted the influence of marketing on infant feeding attitudes and decisions. This seminar will provide an overview of methods used to investigate the influence of marketing across 9 countries, as part of a multi-country study funded by WHO. This includes more traditional methods of marketing such as TV adverts, along with the investigation of more indirect methods of marketing which are often more personalised and effective
