Hi all,

The Library Teaching and Learning Support Team are running some online sessions to support students writing dissertations or extended research projects. Please see details below:

  • Learn how to turn your research question into a search strategy
  • Discover some tips and techniques to help you get the most out of databases
  • See how to register for EndNote when off campus
  • Find out how to import references and organise them in your EndNote library
  • Learn how to use Cite While You Write to create in-text citations and bibliographies in a Word document
Places are limited, so please book ahead.
We also have lots of online material to help you with your searches and run online drop-in sessions every Wednesday afternoon, 2-4pm. If you have any questions on database searching or using EndNote you can also get in touch at library-SMD@qmul.ac.uk
In addition, Academic Skills Enhancement (ASE) will be running their workshop programme, Shut Up and Write, starting in March. This includes workshops on dissertation structure, critical thinking, and editing and proofreading. ASE also provide 1 to 1 tutorials and drop-ins on all aspects of academic skills. See https://www.qmul.ac.uk/library/academic-skills/ for more information.
