Hi!

Since Reading Week is just around the corner, I thought it might be useful to post a Reading List for the Second Year Biomedical Sciences (B990) students on the forum. It's not an exhaustive list, but should anyone want any further recommendations please let me know or come to PASS (though note we are NOT operating sessions during Reading Week) Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1-2pm in EB1 (Queen's building).

I've probably forgotten the exact subject titles but you should get the gist of which ones I mean:

Clinical Pharmacology:

CRASH COURSE: PHARMACOLOGY by Battista, Elisabetta (available at Whitechapel library)

Basic Immunology:

KUBY IMMUNOLOGY by Owen, Judy; Punt, Jenni; Stranford, Shannon (available at Mile End library)

Techniques in Biomedical Sciences:

PRACTICAL SKILLS IN BIOMOLECULAR SCIENCES by Reed, Robert (available at Whitechapel library)

(Wikipedia is also really useful for this one)

Biomedical Physiology II:

HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY by Sherwood, Lauralee (available at Mile End library)

Clinical Microbiology:

LECTURE NOTES: MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY AND INFECTION by Elliot, Tom (available at Whitechapel library)

Human Genetic Disorders:

EMERY'S ELEMENTS OF MEDICAL GENETICS by Turnpenny, Peter (available at Mile End library)

Human Molecular Biology:

LEWIN'S GENES XII by Krebs, Jocelyn (available at Mile End library)

ESSENTIAL CELL BIOLOGY by Alberts, Bruce (available at Mile End library)

Essential Biochemistry for Human Life:

BIOCHEMISTRY by Berg, Jeremy (available at Mile End)

I'll soon make another list for good Youtube channels and online resources too (those are super helpful this year), so please check out this forum or our Facebook page (SBCS PASS 2017/18).

Have a good Reading Week!
