    • Subject Support (Academic Offices, GO Jones or JP Building)

      • For support with your subject and academic guidance your first step is to speak to your academic adviser or module organiser .
      • We encourage you to contact your advisor or lecturers directly over email to schedule a suitable time to meet. 
      • Students are encourage to attend the weekly Peer Assisted Study Support session (PASS) for peer-led academic support from student mentors if they need additional academic support. This take place every Wednesday afternoon.

      How can the SSO support students?​

      First point-of-contact for queries and concerns​

      • Being available for regular meetings.​
      • Supporting you both as students and apprentices.​

      Signposting to services within schools, across and outside of the university​

      • Providing advice on support offerings available at QMUL.​
      • Connecting students with Student Reps and other support networks.​

      ​Pastoral support to help overcome personal difficulties​

      • Offering support on issues impeding study, such as interruption or extenuating circumstances.​
      • Working with DDS to ensure special requirements are in place.​

      ​Monitors engagement throughout a student’s studies​

      • Reaching out with attendance concerns and offering advice/referrals.​

      Manages the extenuating circumstances (EC) process​

      • Helping students apply for extensions or resits if unexpected problems affect their studies or exams.
