    • Things to consider

      • You are required to take 120 credits in each academic year. It is not possible to take less or more than 120 credits.
      • Pay attention to the semester balance of modules, you will need to take 60 credits in each semester. A 75 credits in Semester 1 and 45 credits in Semester 2 split will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. Any other imbalance of module weightings will not be allowed.
      • You are strongly encouraged to take modules which match your current level of study i.e. Level 5 modules for Year 2, Level 6 modules for Final Year. If you do choose to request modules at a different level to your developmental year, do consider that this could have consequences which effect your progression/classification.
      • Students may choose an optional language module at a lower or higher level than their developmental year provided their language level is appropriate for the chosen level and their programme allows this option.
      • Check that you meet the pre-requisites of the modules you have selected. This information is available in the STA Module List.
      • If you’ve already taken a module with the same name but at a different level or with a different code, you will not be able to take it again.
      • Should you wish to take modules from outside of STA, please be aware that many modules that appear in the selection pot on MySIS will not be suitable for you and will not be approved by the School offering the module.
      • Modules not available to Undergraduate students include A or B versions of a module, Year or Semester Abroad modules, modules with the code IFJ, IFP or EAL.
      • If a module has more than one code (e.g. GER and FLM), take the code which corresponds to your programme.
      • If you are on a Languages programme, you will not be able to select any other versions of your core language/s.
