    • Timeline of making your module selection

      • The module pre-registration task for STA will be available in MySIS from Thursday 19 March 2026.
      • Students have until Wednesday 8 April 2026 midday to submit their selection.
      • STA Module pre-registration is not first-come, first-served. Any submissions received by the final deadline will be treated equally, so please make sure you are happy with your choices before submitting.
      • You will receive a confirmation email from MySIS of your choices from Tuesday 5 May 2026.

Before submitting your selections on MySIS

      • Read the relevant Programme Requirements which list your compulsory modules and elective options.
      • Consult the STA Module Lists in the Module Information Section to check which modules are running.
      • Attend the Module Fair on Wednesday 18 March.
      • Discuss your module selection with your Advisor (recommended).
      • If you are on a joint programme with another School or wish to take modules offered by another School, follow their guidance before selecting their modules in MySIS.

      How to submit

      • Use the Step-by-Step Guidance with Screenshots prepared by Student Records.
      • If you cannot access the Module Registration task in MySIS or you receive an error message when attempting to submit your choices in MySIS, please contact the Education Team via AskQM.
      • Once you submit your main selection of modules, you will be required to submit reserve choices and you must choose these modules within STA.
      • When entering reserve choices, if you receive an error or cannot submit your reserve choices, as the 30 credit option exceeds the 15 credits being asked for, don't worry! Your first choices are submitted in MySIS and we will consider them as long as they are in the system by the deadline. If you wish to submit reserve choices, do submit them to us via Ask QM, so we can make a note and use these if necessary, when we begin the allocation process.
      • After you submit your selections, your module registration status will change to ENT (Entered) and you will not be able to amend them until we either confirm (status CON) or reject (status REJ) the whole submission. If you change your mind while your status is still ENT, contact the Education Team via the AskQM enquiries portal.

      What happens next

      • Following your submission, the STA Education Team will check that all of your module choices meet your Programme Requirements and pre-requisites, and make any necessary substitutions.
      • We will make every effort to allocate you to your first-choice modules or a comparable reserve choice, but if we are unable to place you on either, we will have to allocate you to any available STA module that meets your programme requirements.
      • Look for the note in MySIS to explain the decision if your module request is rejected.
      • Availability of modules can change at any time and the School reserves the right to withdraw a module even if your module registration has previously been approved.
      • If a module is oversubscribed, priority will be given to students on the relevant degree programme.
      • Any students who don’t submit their selection by the deadline will be automatically allocated to modules according to their programme requirements.

If you have any questions about the module registration process, please contact the Education Team via the AskQM enquiries portal (Programme and Module Support >  School of the Arts)
