Reading about or watching about the politics of the region often leaves little room for understanding the complexities of Middle East’s political and social relations. Nor can a 12-week module cover the range of political events, processes, relations and contestations in a region as vast and varied as the Middle East.
What this module will attempt to do is to delve deep in understanding political formations around a series of important issues and questions. The thematic focus will allow us to examine specific countries and issues where certain problems arise more urgently. The essay will give you the chance to focus on a country or thematic of your own interest.
