SMIC generated record revenues of about $3.36 billion in 2018 and is currently ranked fifth among global foundries. At the same time, it is also the largest and most advanced integrated circuit wafer foundry company in mainland China. At present, SMIC's design capacity is the largest in mainland China, with mature processes above 45nm. SMIC currently has three 12-inch wafer fabs and four 8-inch wafer fabs. The total design capacity is approximately 486K / month. Among them, the mature process capacity above 45nm is 362K / month, accounting for 75% of the total capacity.
Up to now, SMIC currently has 17,967 employees all over the world. SMIC has one 300mm fabs and one 200mm fabs in Shanghai and there is a 300mm wafer fab and a controlled 300mm advanced process wafer fab in Beijing[1]. A 200mm wafer fab is built in Tianjin and Shenzhen. It also has a holding 300mm convex processing joint venture in Jiangyin and a holding 200mm wafer fab in Italy.In addition, SMIC also provides customer service and marketing offices in the United States, Europe, and Japan, as well as representative offices in Hong Kong.

TSMC has a wide range of customers around the world, producing chips for a wide range of electronic applications including computer products, communications products, consumer, industrial and standard semiconductors[3].
The whole ecological chain of semiconductor is mainly divided into front-end design, back-end manufacturing (MFG), package, and finally into the consumer market.Different manufacturers are responsible for different stages, link to each other, and eventually integrate the chip into the product and sell it to the user. TSMC is responsible for the back-end manufacturing part of the chip process, which is the foundry[4].
Taiwan Semiconductor products are used in a vast array of applications in the electronics industry, including automotive, computer, consumer, industrial, telecom and photovoltaic. And it provides wafer production length from 45nm to 20.5mm. In the fourth quarter of 2018, 22nm ultra-low power (22ULP) technology was developed based on TSMC's industry-leading 28nm technology and completed all process qualifications. Compared to 28nm high-performance compact (28HPC) technology, 22ULP provides 10% area reduction with more than 30% speed gain or more than 30% power reduction for applications including image processing, digital TVs, set-top boxes, smartphones and consumer products[6].

TSMC ranks seventh among global technology companies, which has 48752 staffs. In 2018, their consolidated revenue has reached 1031.47 billion dollars and net income rose to 351.13 billion dollars.
TSMC served about 465 customers and manufactured more than 9,920 products for various applications covering a variety of computer, communications and consumer electronics market segments. Annual capacity of the manufacturing facilities managed by TSMC and its subsidiaries exceeded 12 million 12-inch equivalent wafers in 2018. These facilities include three 12-inch wafer GIGAFAB® fabs, four 8-inch wafer fabs, and one 6-inch wafer fab – all in Taiwan – as well as one 12-inch wafer fab at a wholly owned subsidiary, TSMC Nanjing Company Limited, and two 8-inch wafer fabs at wholly owned subsidiaries, WaferTech in the United States and TSMC China Company Limited. In 2016, TSMC Nanjing Company Limited was established, managing a 12-inch wafer fab and a design service center.
TSMS ranks seventh among global technology companies, which has 647500 staffs. In 2019, their income has reached 232887 million dollars and pure profit rose to 10073 million dollars.
