Creating and Sharing a Collection (EchoVideo) [edit]

A collection allows you to organise videos and share them with others across the institution or with specific individuals.

 

Important: You must be signed in to QMplus or EchoVideo (Q-Review) with your QMUL email address to view this guidance video.

Step 1: Create a collection

  1. Log in to EchoVideo (Q-Review)
  2. Go to your Library
  3. Select Collections
  4. Click Create collection
  5. Enter a name for your collection
    • You can also add a description (optional)
  6. Click Create

Step 2: Add videos to your collection

  1. Open your collection
  2. Click Add media
  3. Select one or more videos from your library
  4. Confirm to add them

Step 3: Share with people (QMUL users)

  1. Open the collection
  2. Click Share or People
  3. Search for users by name or email
  4. Choose a permission level (e.g. viewer or contributor)
  5. Save your changes

Key points:

  • You can share with any QMUL staff or student
  • Users do not need to be on the same QMplus course

Step 4: Share using a link

  1. Open the collection
  2. Click Share
  3. Enable link sharing
  4. Set access to Institutional
  5. Copy and share the link (e.g. email or QMplus)

Key points:

  • Anyone logged in with a QMUL account can access the link
  • Access is not limited to one course
  • Useful for:
    • Cross-course content
    • Programme-level resources
    • Staff-only materials
Important note

Collections do not control student access on their own.

To share recordings with students, use:

  • Classes (Q-Review links), or
  • Embed videos into QMplus
