This baby (and her older sister) has scabies. The lesions of the soles of the feet are almost pathognomonic.

The affected children and all close contacts (even if they are asymptomatic) need to be treated simultaneously with either topical malathion (e.g. Derbac-M ®) or topical permethrin (Lyclear ® cream). The treatment should be applied to the whole body (excluding the face) and left overnight. It is especially important to treat the interdigital web spaces.  Everyone should repeat the treatment one week later. Clothes and bed linen should also be washed.
