If you are the module organiser then you should have the Teacher role and you should be able to edit almost everything that is editable. First, you need to turn on editing mode, which you can do by clicking on the button at the right of the breadcrumb menu labelled TURN ON EDITING. Once you have done that, various editing widgets appear. Sometimes editing is called configuring, and usually editing or configuring can be trigger by clicking on the cog icon somewhere on the content you want to edit/configure (but not always in the same location). Blocks, which appear at either side of the main content area, have a cog icon with an arrow next to it. Click on this to edit/configure the block.

You nearly always need to click on a button towards the bottom of any edit/configure page labelled SAVE CHANGES, otherwise your amendments will be discarded.

Example 1: To edit/configure the MODULE INFO block, click on the cog icon with an arrow next to it and then click on Configure Module Info block. This will take you to a page with a lot of settings and some editable content. The sections that you may want to edit are towards the bottom and are labelled MODULE DOCUMENTS and ADDITIONAL CONTENT. You can use these however you want. In the past, I used the ADDITIONAL CONTENT section as a standard place to advertise office and office hours, although I no longer do that. Please check this information and either delete or correct it.

The MODULE INFO block can display selected information from your profile, which is probably now the best way to display your contact information. You can get to your profile and edit it via the MY DASHBOARD drop-down menu or by clicking on (the placeholder for) your picture in the MODULE INFO block.

Example 2: To edit Teaching & Assessment Overview information, you can visit the item you want to edit and then select Edit settings in the SETTINGS block. Alternatively, the information lives in orphaned section 52, which is usually the last section at the bottom of the main page but is visible only in editing mode. You can edit an orphaned section much like a normal section. If you edit any of your Teaching & Assessment Overview information then please let me know so that I can update our module details database, because they are just copies of each other.

You may have other orphaned sections. If a section contains content but is above the number of currently displayed sections then it appears as an orphan. The subpage resource uses orphaned sections to contain subpages. Note that it is now possible to delete a section and its contents via the Edit menu for the section, so it is better and easier to delete a section that is no longer required than to orphan it.

Please delete all content that you do not need to keep, rather than hiding or orphaning it. Hidden content and large files will cause your pages to load more slowly.
