Completion requirements
MA Creative Writing
Over the course of a Masters programme in the School of English and Drama, all students complete 180 credits of assessed modules (including a Dissertation worth 60 credits). Read the information on this page to understand the requirements for full-time and part-time students taking this MA programme/pathway.
Compulsory Modules
- Collaborative Practices (ESH7110, 30 credits)
- Creative and Critical Writing 1 (ESH7107, 30 credits)
- Creative and Critical Writing 2 (ESH7108, 30 credits)
- Creative Writing Dissertation (ESH7199, 60 credits)
- Writing From Research (ESH7109, 30 credits)
Pathway Requirements
Full-time students take:
- Creative and Critical Writing 1 (ESH7107) and Writing From Research (ESH7109) in
semester one
- Creative and Critical Writing 2 (ESH7108) and Collaborative Practices (ESH7110) in
semester two
- the Creative Writing Dissertation (ESH7199) which you will complete over the summer and submit in August
Part-time students entering their first year take:
- Creative and Critical Writing 1 (ESH7107) in semester one
- Creative and Critical Writing 2 (ESH7108) in semester two
Part-time students entering their final year take:
- Writing From Research (ESH7109) in semester one
- Collaborative Practices (ESH7110) in semester two
- the Creative Writing Dissertation (ESH7199) which you will complete over the summer and submit in August
