GLOBAL OUTLOOK
- Seek out specialist and business news sites and look for global trends. As a University of London student, you have privileged access to the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. Check out the Global Employment newsroom for more ideas
- Seek opportunities to work in multi-cultural environments
- Seek volunteering and work experience opportunities away from your home country
DIGITAL SKILLS
- Draw a diagram mapping what technology you are comfortable in using as a creator
- Choose 1-2 professionally-relevant platforms or software and commit to becoming a superuser
- Find a digital buddy or user community where you can have conversations about technology trends
- Commit to delivering an academic or community project that includes a significant digital element
- Get involved in a local team endeavour in your community or Teaching Centre to achieve a shared objective, preferably with people you don't know well, who have different perspectives from you. Such activities can include sports teams, organising charity fundraising or cleaning up the environment; they are all great ways to develop your people skills as you work together.
- Practice stretching and developing your communication skills by taking on unfamiliar activities such as public speaking.

LEADERSHIP
- Look around for something that you think needs to change and find something that you can do about it.
- Are there existing groups or structures that would welcome advocates or committee members, can you see a good way to get involved?
- Is there a gap, what can you do to fill it? How can you raise awareness of the issue and propose change?
