Week 2 Learning Resources

This week, we will discuss the question: What is a 'sovereign' state? and consider the question: How do states interact in the 'international' system? We will explore the definitions, dimensions, and types of state 'sovereignty', and consider the way that states behave in this system (balance of power and diplomacy), through the lens of one of the central theories of International Relations, Realism. We will ask you to consider these core concepts and theories through the ideas of Stephen Krasner, Kenneth Waltz and Hedley Bull, among others.

Once you have completed the readings and activities here, remember to mark this activity as done in the top right corner of this section.
