Biochemistry is the study of the chemistry that underpins life processes. These processes include the interplay of large and small molecules that are common to all life on earth. This module will cover the structure and function of the key biomolecules of life such as amino acids, proteins, sugars, lipids, and membrane structures.
The module will also examine the role of these biomolecules in the generation, utilisation, regulation, and storage of metabolic energy.
