Dear all,

We have now covered all the examinable material in Chaos & Fractals.

In the Wednesday and Thursday sessions of this final Week 12, I propose to devote time to reviewing the module content and preparing for the January exam.
Specifically, the Wednesday 11am-1pm session will be formal revision / exam prep lecture, with time for questions.
The Thursday session will be more informal, where I will be happy to answer any questions, on either an individual or group basis.
If you have any particular questions, or topics you would like to see reviewed, feel free to email me these in advance.

Exam format:

MTH6107:
If you are taking the Level-6 version of the exam, then the January exam will resemble those in recent years.
The exam is 2 hours long - there will be six questions and each question is divided into sub-questions.

MTH727U/MTH727P:
If you are taking the Level-7 version of the exam, then it lasts for 3 hours, and can be considered as an extended version of the level-6 exam.
Specifically, some of the questions are elongated versions of those in the level-6 paper (i.e. there are additional sub-questions),
and there is also an additional question (therefore 7 questions in total).

Whether you are taking the level-6 or the level-7 version of the exam, I would highly recommend looking at the past exam papers from the years 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25.

In this Wednesday's revision lecture, some extra insight into the exam will be given.

Best wishes,

Oliver
