Dear Students,

As part of Disability History Month (14th November – 20th December), we’re raising awareness of hidden disabilities, conditions that may not be immediately visible to others but can nonetheless have a big impact on an individual’s daily life.

If you have a hidden disability and would like a discreet way to show that you may need a little extra understanding or support, you can collect a free sunflower lanyard from the Disability & Dyslexia Service.

Wearing the sunflower is completely optional, it’s simply a way to signal that you may appreciate patience, clearer communication, or small adjustments in your day-to-day interactions with others.

You can find out more about the scheme here: Sunflower Lanyards at Queen Mary 🌻

Where to collect:
Disability & Dyslexia Service,
Room 3.06, Francis Bancroft Building
Mon-Friday 10am – 4pm

Let’s work together to create a campus where everyone feels seen, supported, and included.

Many thanks,
