This message is addressed to students who need to complete the French diagnostic test.

I am writing to inform you that there is still an issue with the online French language test. As a result, we have created a new link/area for you to download a Word a document and to complete it (without any external help) by Friday 22 September noon. Please go to the Welcome Week page, click on the Language diagnostic tests tile and scroll down the page to access the French language test or click on the following link to access it directly https://qmplus.qmul.ac.uk/mod/assign/view.php?id=2405921.

This test is for students without any formal qualifications in French and for students with foreign (non-British) qualifications in French.

It is also for students with a GCSE in French (or equivalent).

Do not take this test if you are a complete beginner in French or if you have an A or B in your A-level in French.

This test will allow us to make sure you are placed in a French language group which is appropriate to your current level in French. It wouldn't be very productive nor pleasant for you if you find yourself in a group where the learning and teaching material is too easy or too hard.

You have 90 minutes to complete the two sections (section I : grammar, section II : composition). Both sections count for 50%.

Once you've finished the test, please email it to Dr Elsa Petit at e.petit@qmul.ac.uk and clearly indicate in the Subject of your email: French language diagnostic test.

The deadline by which you need to email this completed test back to Dr Petit is Friday 22nd September noon in order to leave enough time for Dr Petit to mark your test and to let the admin team which French language module you should be enrolled on.

Do not forget to indicate which module you would like to take in the first question and to indicate your full name and QMUL email address.

Best of luck!

Laetitia.
