Dear users of the Raman facility,
The Raman system blue laser (442nm) is experiencing very low counts (up to 1500) when calibrating on external Si-ref. This has resulted in unsatisfactory results while measuring different samples, especially with low signals. Although the system overall functions properly.
The focussed laser spot is not aligned to the cross-hairs centre, which may interfere with the calibration and generating low counts. This has been escalated to the engineers for possible solution which I have been chasing. Meanwhile the system is OK to operate at the expense of low counts for qualitative analysis. Thank you.
