Dear all first-year students of Linguistics and English Language,

I just wanted to let you know that we are running a Linguistics PASS session today, Wednesday, 13th April. As usual, our session will take place in Scape, room 0.11 between 13:00-14:00. Today's one-hour session is a drop-in session, so please feel free to attend at a time that is convenient for you for however long you want.

This week's session will be an open session and a revision session, where you can discuss Linguistics concepts, consolidate your learning, go over assessment feedback and prepare for your upcoming assignments, and revise key content. Attending today's PASS session will enable you to gain a greater comprehension of your modules and your subject(s)!

You could use this session to produce an assignment plan, to analyse assessments questions, assessment briefs, or to draft or write part(s) of your coursework. Alternatively, you might want to use today's session to ask any questions you have about your next year of university study or to talk about Linguistics career options with other students!

Did you know that attending an hour's PASS session is the equivalent of three hours of independent study? It is a great way to work smart and to gain deeper insight into your subject and university life! PASS is also an invaluable opportunity to recap the content that you are struggling with in a relaxed, friendly safe space.

What is PASS?

PASS (Peer Assisted Study Support) is a mentoring scheme run by students for students. PASS is a great opportunity for first-year students to gain advice from mentors about the transition from first year to second year and any queries related to choosing modules, upcoming assignments and, academic life. Our online platform, the SLLF PASS Page on QMPlus, includes many useful resources and activities for you to use!

Any questions, please, feel free to email me (George) at g.e.boulton@hss18.qmul.ac.uk.

Have a great day! We hope to see you later!

Kindest,

George
