Hi everyone,

There are lots of great careers events (teaching and law), internships and jobs popping up that I wanted to make sure you know about!

It’s an exciting time of year – lots of organisations have started to advertise graduate roles and summer opportunities. So, keep your eyes peeled and take a moment to scroll through our career emails – I don’t want you to out on the perfect position!

Get in touch with the careers team if you would like support applying for jobs or work experience - we can offer CV, cover letter and interview help. And, as always, I’d be delighted to speak with you 121 in a career guidance appointment…email here: careers@qmul.ac.uk to book your appointment.

We also had a fantastic History at Work Alumni Panel event last Wednesday – do watch the recording here for top career tips and insight.

Hope to see you soon,

Charlotte – SoH Careers Consultant

Teaching and Law Events

Get into Teaching Alumni Event – tomorrow at 1:00pm A free virtual event hosted on behalf of the Department for Education for anyone who has graduated and may be considering a career in teaching or is perhaps still undecided on their future career path.

Over the 45-minute session, two of our Teacher Training Advisers will explain how to get into teaching and the rewards a career in teaching can bring. Explore the skills, qualities and attributes needed for a successful career, how to choose a teacher training course and the application process. Find out what help and support is available – this is a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

As a thank you for attending, we will send you a £5 voucher to spend on Uber Eats after the webinar!

Are you a final year student considering qualifying as a solicitor or barrister? You now have access to new careers resources as part of a collaboration between Queen Mary and BPP Law School.

The “The Bridge Programme” is a free, online career development programme you can complete independently to help you transition to a legal training pathway. There are two programmes – Bridge to the SQE and Bridge to the Bar. Students who complete at least half of one of the Bridge Programmes will have the chance of being awarded a scholarship in 2022, which works as a fee reduction against the cost of BPP’s GDL, SQE or BTC programmes and all students who complete the programme will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
