According to charmaz illness narrative is a means of studying the illness experience and its social and cultural context and only a biomedical reality. it is a very good form of expressing suffering and the experience that comes with it and gives suffering a voice outside biomedical. it is now been used as a means of understanding the efforts made by the patients to deal with the situation and the problem of identity that comes with chronic illness. she also alighted what illness narrative can be used for such as expressing pain, reconstruction of history, can be used as strategic device in achieving certain effects on social interactions and transforming individual experience to collective experience this can be linked the narratives in the rheumatoid arthritis health talk in the sense that the patient were able to express the pain that comes with the disease, what they went through before the disease was diagnosed and after, reconstructing their lifes they were able to admit that the psychological aspect its difficult but they just have to come to terms with it and deal with it. They were able to let people understand who they are and why they have to make different choice.The individual experience becomes a collective knowledge as people listening to them can learn from their experience.
