There is just under two weeks left to apply for these two amazing Queen Mary programmes!


QTaster

Would you like to gain insight into different organisations and sectors and learn about their graduate application process?  QTaster is a great opportunity to boost your employability, CV and career prospects.

QTaster is ideal if you have ever had any doubts or uncertainty about your future career path – the programme gives you a real life insight into individual roles and sectors.

What will a QTaster virtual session involve?

All QTaster Summer sessions are expected to take place online. These may include:

·       Presentations by different speakers from across the organisation

·       Information about their internship and graduate recruitment processes

·       Interactive online activities

·       Facilitated online networking sessions

·       And, of course, the opportunity to ask lots of questions!

BT, SKY, Microsoft, HSBC, Barclays, Expedia, Civil Service, Media Com, Fidelity International, Ernst & Young, Skanska, Salesforce, Credit Suisse, Liberty Communications and many more.

QTaster time commitment: 

All sessions will take place online on a variety of afternoons between Wednesday 16th June to Friday 25th June. You will attend 5 sessions during this time:

Introduction session (1 hour)

Wednesday 16th June 2021

3 x QTaster online virtual events

You will attend 3 virtual QTaster events during these dates: 17th June, 18th June, 21st June, 22nd June, 23rd June and 24th June.

Career development workshop (1 hour)

Friday 25th June 2021

The SCP Sprint

Looking to strengthen your CV this summer? Join a student team and help a business or charity, solve a real-life business challenge.

The Student Consultancy Project Sprint (SCP Sprint) offers you the opportunity to collaborate in a team and tackle a real-life business challenge over one week. Whilst on the programme, you will benefit from training, coaching and the opportunity to interact with a business who will act as your client.

SCP Sprint is open to all undergraduate students at Queen Mary.

We will support you during the programme to develop work-related skills such as;

  • Commercial awareness
  • Problem solving
  • Project planning
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Presentation skills

Benefits of taking part:

  • Gain experience of working with a client on a real-life consultancy project.
  • Receive support, training and advice on a range of work-related skills.
  • Add the SCP to your digital transcript, the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).

The programme runs from Monday, 7 June to Monday, 14 June.

Participants on this programme will be expected to be available for training and teamwork during standard office hours (9am-5pm). Due to Covid-19 related restrictions the programme will take place online, with a mixture of livestreamed and pre-recorded sessions.
