Dear Students,

The SMD are working closely with QM central services to provide bookable study spaces for SMD students. To date, the following spaces are available and can be booked via the links. Please note, for H&S purposes the bookings must be made 12 hours in advance, to avoid students coming to the buildings when no spaces are available.

Garrod Building:

At the moment, the bookings are available from 08:00-18:00 from Monday-Friday.

The Room Bookings Team are working with security/estates about evening and weekend bookings in order to extend access and to add more rooms.

Library spaces:

  • Bookable silent study space is available in both medical libraries: https://qmul.libcalcom/
    • 11 study spaces in Whitechapel (will increase to at least 13 once a permanent ventilation solution is in place)
    • 21 in West Smithfield.
    • A maximum of five additional students will also be able to access the libraries to browse and borrow books, and print documents.

Please note, these currently need to be booked 12 hours in advance, but this is under review.

Study space available at the Mile End campus, so please do make use of that if you're not able to find a space on the medical sites. As well as in the Mile End Library there are also study spaces available in the Hive and Canalside study spaces https://qmul.libcal.com/

 Best wishes,
