PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

The TATE are looking for: 'Collection Registrar (Casual)' - you will be part of the Collection Management team, working flexibly across the acquisitions, displays and loans out programmes at the London Tate sites, on an as and when needed basis.  You need to have some previous experience, but some of you may have this either through your MA activities or from previous experience.  http://www.artsjobs.org.uk/arts-job/post/registrar-casual/

GRADUATE SCHEMES WITH AUTUMN 2018 START DATES

Many such schemes do not have a Masters as a prerequisite, but the broader, deeper skills you are developing, allow you to better position yourself as a relevant candidate.  If you want any applications support, appointments are available in Careers & Enterprise Monday-Friday, even through the holidays, reading week etc.  At this time of year, it is generally possible to get an appointment the next day, or even the same day - just call 020 7882 8533 and explain what support you require.

DFID  - Department for International Development graduate scheme - deadline: 28 February

For those aspiring to a career in the development sector, we offer unique and crucial support for taking that first step. Our 2 year paid programme will begin in October 2018. It will provide the chance for you to become immersed in DFID’s dynamic environment and contribute to priority projects which make a real difference to improving people’s lives in developing countries. Successful applicants will be paid a salary of £30k per annum during the time on the Programme.  Over 2 years you will experience programme and policy work with a wide range of committed, inspiring and influential experts and professionals. International Careers Week is almost here! 12-16 February 2018

A great programme of events for International students, and all students who want information about working overseas during their studies and after graduation

Kick start your career in the US! - J1 visa conference, Mon 12 Feb, 5.15-6.15pm   Stand out from the crowd and give your CV the competitive edge it is missing with an Internship in America.  Find an internship and possibly earn more with a training in the USA on your CV! J-1 visas are open to all nationalities and to all levels of study! Find out how to find your paid internship, placement or training, what careers are hot right now in the US and much more! Come and meet the J-1 experts.  

UK Interviews for international students led by the Language Centre, Thurs 15 Feb, 1-2pm  This workshop will look at the type of language you need to use in UK job interviews. It will raise your awareness of language commonly used in interviews and will look at some model answers. There will also be an opportunity for you to practise your answers.

Working in the UK after graduation for International students, Thurs 15 Feb, 5-7pm    This workshop will give you an understanding of how the recruitment process operates in the UK, the timeline for applying to jobs and what employers are looking for. You will also get information on visa regulations for working after study. This event is open to all students at QMUL.

Tier 5 visas for UK employment (Work experience in the UK for up to 24 Months), Fri 16 Feb, 1-2.30pm   Access Tier 5 provide visa sponsorship to any non-EEA graduates to undertake work experience with UK employers by sponsoring them under the Tier 5 visa category. Find out more about this scheme and how you can get short term work in the UK through it.
