Working in pairs, take your own country and one other contrasting country of your choice (it can contrast in whatever way you please):
a)Describe BRIEFLY the gate-keeping role to the public health care system, if any, to medicines access of 1) the WHO Model List, 2) one other body used by the national government or the public healthcare system
b) Briefly Describe the National Drug Policy and the procedures for treatment guideline development and the EML in those countries .
c) In the country of your choice give an account of the drug application process (for inclusion or deletion) on to the country’s EML and compare with the WHO EML procedure.
d) Compare the total number of drugs on the EML of the country of your choice with total number of drug approvals and OTC drugs (if data not available compare with another country). Alternatively compare the number of new applications to the EML (in the last round) with total annual new applications for medicine approvals to the marketting/licensing or regulatory approval authority.
