Creative Writing Prose Fiction

Level 6 (15 credits)

This module (available to students on the single-honours English programme) is an introduction to writing prose fiction. Through practice-based workshops and seminars, the module explores the methodologies of writing fiction from a writer's perspective, and focuses on form, structure and narrative technique. The module is delivered through weekly creative writing exercises and immersion in a process of peer critique, as well as the critical analysis of sample texts.

Preparing for this Module and Approximate Costs

There is no advance preparation for this module.

Primary texts may cost up to £50 if purchased new in recommended editions. Please note that these costs can often be reduced by purchasing items second-hand or borrowing them from the Library.
