Assignment 1.1 - Draft PDP and Learning Log
Completion requirements
This should include three sections:
1. Long term objectives. Please set out at least 3 long-term objectives for your time at university. These should be a mix of academic and personal objectives (e.g., overall grade for your degree, securing and internship or a job, achieving a personal best in sport)
2. SWOT Analysis:
(a) Strengths: list your personal skills and experiences that will help you achieve your objectives
(b) Weaknesses: list your weaknesses that may make it difficult to achieve your objectives
(c) Opportunities: what opportunities are open to you and what trends can you take advantage of?
(d) Threats: what external threats could prevent you from achieving your goals?
[It is recommended that you search for SWOT templates online for further guidance]
3. Detailed development plan:
List 3-5 detailed goals. Please set out for each goal (a) what development area you are addressing (b) what your goal is (c) proposed actions to achieve this goal and (d) when you expect to achieve it.
Learning Log
Complete a weekly learning log, covering one activity per week. Include a mix of academic and non-academic activities. For each week set out four items:
(1) What did I learn/attempt this week (e.g., describe a particularly interesting lecture, new recipes you tried, new experiences of university life, applications for a job, etc.)
(2) What went well about it?
(3) What could have been better?
(4) What concrete actions will I take to ensure a better outcome next time (e.g., if you found Python particularly hard to follow you might take an Udemy course to improve, if you failed to make the first team for football how will you continue to improve, or if you achieved what you set out to do how will you continue to capitalise on this)
