    Synopsis
    Further techniques of mathematics needed in the physical sciences. Complex numbers and hyperbolic functions. Polar and spherical coordinates and coordinate transformations. Multiple integrals. Line and surface integrals. Vector calculus. The theorems of Gauss, Green, and Stokes. Matrices. Determinants. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Fourier series and transforms including the convolution theorem. Differential equations. Exercise classes enable the students to learn practical approaches to problem-solving while applying the concepts and techniques introduced in lectures.

    Mode of Delivery
    This module is designed for in-person delivery on campus, with a focus on providing dynamic and immersive experiences to foster meaningful interactions and promote successful assessment outcomes. The primary delivery method is face-to-face, offering synchronous learning opportunities. The on-campus sessions also comprise interactive workshops that cultivate a lively atmosphere for active participation and collaborative learning among students. These sessions aim to establish robust connections, facilitate clarifications, and enable real-time learning experiences. Additionally, educational support materials will be accessible on QMPlus as part of the Online Learning Resources content. This setup aims to facilitate effective self-paced learning.
