  • Queen Mary University of London is proud to join our long-standing Twinning partner, Odesa National Medical University (ONMedU), in celebrating Ukrainian Culture Week, an international initiative marking the Day of Ukrainian Language and Writing on 9th November. The week highlights Ukraine’s cultural richness, resilience, and academic excellence through a series of events connecting UK and Ukrainian universities.

As part of this collaboration, colleagues from Odesa National Medical University are presenting three special lectures exploring Ukrainian heritage, education, and public health. These sessions offer Queen Mary staff, students, and the wider community an opportunity to engage with Ukraine’s history, traditions, and ongoing contributions to global scholarship and wellbeing.

    Lecture Programme

    1. Ukrainian Culture through the Prism of Folk Traditions and Holidays
    2. The Emergence of Higher Medical Education for Women in Ukraine in the Early 20th Century
    3. Transforming SRHR Services for Young People in Ukraine: Evidence, Policy and Practice

These lectures are hosted jointly by Queen Mary University of London and Odesa National Medical University, with support from the Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sport.

Join us in celebrating Ukraine’s vibrant cultural voice and the enduring partnership between our universities.
